About Dog Tales Rescue and Training Center:
Dog Tales Rescue and Training Center (DTR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that rescues
abandoned and surrendered dogs due to behavior, fear, or trauma on the euthanasia list at local
municipal shelters. Our intense 5 weeks rehabilitation program gives these dogs the chance to be
rehabilitated, and to be trained in basic obedience, with the elimination of reactivity to other dogs
while building the confidence necessary to be a great house pet. At the end of the intensive
training, DTR works with potential adopters and municipal shelters to find the perfect family for
the dog. Our goal is to make what many consider “unadoptable dogs” into great house pets and
finding them new homes. Over the past 8 years, DTR has provided comprehensive training
for more than 60 dogs at our Center, as well as 200 dogs that have come through Athens
municipal shelter and various non-profit organization in Clarke and Madison Counties. DTR
was incorporated in 2017 and has since been an active member of the community and a
determined advocate for animal welfare.
Our donors and community can have confidence in knowing that their support for DTR is used to
save and improve the lives of animals and enhance the well-being of our community. DTR is
privately funded by individual donations, and the need is always growing; please donate,

volunteer, and adopt today.
